The Veracity Challenge!!!

Veracity Challenge.jpg

We weren’t ACTUALLY tagged for this, but I found it on Bhramori’s website (The Crazy Perfectionist), and it looked fun!

  1. Write a paragraph without using a single adjective.
  2. Keep the link Veracity challenge in your post (so that the creator of the challenge may receive a pingback).
  3.  Anyone can join the challenge, you don’t have to be nominated!
  4.  Nominate 6 Bloggers for this challenge.

Ready, set, and…. Go!!!!!

Although Bhramori’s paragraph was on the sad side, (BAM, WHAT!?! No adjectives! That literally took me five minutes. In case you haven’t noticed, though I can’t see how you possibly haven’t, it’s Nikki here. Amy and I are trading off sentences.) we’re here to take you to the fun side. I think we’re already succeeding. In other news, flying elephants landed on the moon yesterday, and talking ice cream cones landed on the sun. As you’ve most likely already guessed, that didn’t turn out too well.

^^The paragraph listed above is from SEVERAL months ago, when Amy and I (That’s right; it’s Nikki!!) first started this post. As you’ve hopefully noticed, that paragraph contains multiple adjectives. Now, I have no idea how that escaped our attention; we must have been seriously stupid a few months ago. This is the product of a lifetime of small-town schooling. There are no words to describe how I’m feeling right now. I am so ashamed and so, so sorry. Now, we shall try and MAKE THIS RIGHT. (Those caplocks were unintentional, and I’ve hit them several times in the past few seconds, thus proving that I haven’t written in literally months. More on that later.)

Okay, so Amy and I just reread Bhramori’s paragraph to see what we were up against (Not that this is a challenge against her.- This most definitely will be a challenge- Bhramori is HOPEFULLY still one of my closest friends! I haven’t talked to her in months; Hi, how ya’ doin’??)  TAKE TWO!!! (Amy is back- for the time being, at least….) Nikki has a habit of taking over at the drop of a hat. For no particular reason.

(Nikki’s back again- I threw a bit of temper-tantrum… Just kidding, but not really…) Since we have no chance of writing something as good as Bhramori without the help of our go-to part of speech, we’re going to write something completely unrelated. Well, we’re going to try. Remember, plagiarism is bad! VERY BAD!!! Ok, here we go:

Amy loves Moon. Nikki loves Midnight. Midnight and Moon bark and meow dramatically, loudly, and VERY frequently. Why, just this afternoon, Midnight tried to commit suicide by almost crawling out of the window because no one would pet her. And Moon likes to yell when the mailman comes. Every. Single. Day. Midnight and Moon eat, sleep, and breathe for their people. (Originally, Amy was going to type “and masters,” but we all know that Queen Midnight rules the kingdom.) Both Midnight and Moon love and crave attention, except Midnight only likes attention from Nikki. Midnight looooooves Nikki. Midnight even gave birth to her kittens by her bed. Basically, we love our children (I mean, pets) more than anything (even BOOKS), and that is why we wrote this. Yes, it sounds like a child wrote it, but pets. Our happiness comes from pets.

Yes, this sounds like a 5th grade writing assignment… Okay, not even that. Maybe second. Oh well, there weren’t any adjectives, right? Right? RIGHT??? And yes, pets are AMAZING AND WONDERFUL AND I AM DELIRIOUS, ONLY PARTIALLY FROM TALKING ABOUT PETS.  Well, that was from Amy, if you couldn’t tell. Obviously, she’s the only delirious one around here. (NFA: Not fair!!!) I sincerely hope you (Wait, pause. I’m overjoyed to have my adjectives back. I think now we should do a paragraph using AS MANY AS POSSIBLE!!!)- Sadly, Amy doesn’t like my long posts, so we’ll have to do that another time! Love you all! (NFA: As my LA teacher would say, FORESHADOWING. LOOK AT THE FORESHADOWING. TOODLES!!!)

Have any of you done this tag? If you have, please leave the link down below and one or both of us would love to check it out! Are you planning on doing it? Have we inspired you??? Was our first paragraph pathetic? How did you like the second one? Did we miss any adjectives in there? What are your thoughts on pets? Do you have any? Are you looking forward to the next post? Let us know all of your thoughts down in the comments! Love to all! 🙂

  1. This reminds me that I was tagged to do this once upon a time.. checks tag to do list look at that – exactly one year ago today I was tagged to do this 😂 The idea of not using adjectives is daunting 🙈

  2. This Challenge seems fun and hard at the same time. I don’t even know if I can write a sentence without using an adjective, let alone a paragraph. Do you think you will keep up with this challenge when writing up a post?
